ABOUT THE LIFT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

ABOUT

What is TLCA?

The Lift Christian Academy is a homeschooling education for Christian families who want community, guidance, support, and order in their homeschooling journey. We offer the best of private education and homeschooling in a unique hybrid model that provides an enriching learning experience!

What makes TLCA so distinct?

• At The Lift Christian Academy (TLCA), we understand that God has given parents as the catalysts and responsible agents for raising their children academically and spiritually. We work with homeschooling families to provide guidance and support. Students learn in classes with experienced teachers and classroom facilitators who introduce new topics and abilities. Students are involved in engaging discussions and activities throughout the day, developing social skills during class as well as during breaks and recess. Our smaller class sizes are more focused, supportive and encouraging for each student.

• Parents don’t have to worry about choosing curriculum and managing it – it’s all taken care of for you! Parents can focus on their kids, not on day-to-day planning.

• Teachers send home assignment work logs weekly with assignments to be completed at home under supervision and assistance of a parent. The goal is for most students to be semi-independent by 4th Grade.

• The Alpha and Omega (LifePac for lower grades and Ignitia for upper grades) curriculum integrates Bible, history, literature, composition, geography, grammar, logic, critical thinking, vocabulary, and art appreciation. All classes are taught from a biblical worldview.

• Parents do not stay at the school during on-campus days. Many parents enjoy these days to spend time with younger children, plan for the week ahead, work at a part time job, etc.

• Students are responsible to the teacher for their assignments. We find that students are more motivated by this, than turning in work to their parents. Upper level teachers record grades each week on a website where parents can access them at any time. Report cards are issued each semester.

• Students learn important skills such as working independently, organizing their work, and turning assignments in on time.

• We open every on-campus day with Open Assembly where we recite the Pledge of Allegiance, go over our month’s memory verse, pray, and sing and dance in worship.

• Every first Wednesday of the month is Chapel, and students’ parents are invited to attend.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in ONE God – Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Spirit, the Creator of all things ( I John 5:7). This is the plurality of the God-head.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man (Matthew 1:20-21, John 3:16, John 14:6, Acts 4:10, 1 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 10:12).

We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16, I Thess. 2:13).

We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:17, John 3:1-5, 2 Cor. 5:17, Matthew 16:25).

We believe in sanctification/ set apart through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness shown by purity of heart and life (Hebrews 12:14).

We believe in the moral parameters outlined in God’s Word, that a marriage is between one genetic male and one genetic female, and that any sexual activity outside of this divinely ordained institution is sin, something intolerable and unacceptable to a true believer (Genesis 2:24, Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Timothy 3:2, 12).

We believe in divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in the Redemption (James 5:15, 1 Peter 2:24).

We believe in the initial salvation experience of being “born again” (John. 3:3-6).

We believe in water baptism, as a symbol of a believer’s dedication to Christ. In obedience to the Word, we baptize in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ: the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19; Acts 2:34-39, 10:47-48, 19:1-6)

We believe all the gifts of the Spirit are available to believers today. (Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Acts 1:8; 19:1-7, Ephesians 5:18, Luke 11:13)

We believe in the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in a Christian’s everyday life. (Galatians 5:22-23).

We believe in the Christian’s hope , the soon coming, personal and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that this will happen at “the last day”: the very end of this age (John 6:39).

We believe in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:1-6).
